The 4th Winter School on practical QKD

ID Quantique, a partner in the Q-ESSENCE consortium, is organizing for the 4th time the “Winter School on Practical Quantum Cryptography” taking place from January 17 to 20, 2012 in the Swiss Alps.

The goal of this Winter School is to introduce, to a general audience of physicists and computer scientists
with little or no background in practical quantum cryptography, this exciting topic in a relaxed and
stimulating atmosphere. Special emphasis will be put on practical quantum cryptography system design. The

Benchmarking a Teleportation Protocol with Superconducting Circuits

Teleportation of a quantum state may be used for distributing entanglement between distant qubits in quantum communication and for quantum computation. Here we demonstrate the implementation of a teleportation protocol, up to the single-shot measurement step, with superconducting qubits coupled to a microwave resonator. Using full quantum state tomography and evaluating an entanglement witness, we show that the protocol generates a genuine tripartite entangled state of all three qubits.
