QuantERA Call 2017 Pre-Announcement

Summary: 

In January 2017 the QuantERA Consortium will announce a Call for Proposals in the field of quantum technologies.

 

QuantERA is a network of 31 agencies from 26 countries, coordinated by the National Science Centre, Poland. With a budget of over EUR 34 M, including co-funding from the European Commission, QuantERA will support international research projects in the field of Quantum Technologies.

The Optoelectronics and Photonics Winter Schools are biannual meetings which address relevant arguments of Optoelectronics and Photonics. The School has the tradition to bring together a large number of PhD students and young researchers from all parts of the world who, in a one-week of an intense program, follow a series of lectures on selected topics. The lectures are held by internationally recognized experts in the field. At the same time, the students are encouraged to enjoy the beautiful location where the school is organized.

(Quantum) Electron Optics and Microscopy group at NANO-S3 (Modena)

The (Quantum)  Electron Optics and Microscopy  group at NANO-S3 (Modena) is a group that starting from electron microscopy is trying to develope quantum measurments with electrons. The basis is the large developement of optics and quantum optics for light. The idea is that such developements can be brought to the measurements with electrons with the proespct of measureing new quantities on atomic scale.

CNR-IFN, Single-Photon Detection with Integrated Superconducting Nanowires

Research Type:

The Institute for Photonics and Nanotechnologies (IFN) is part of the Italian National Research Council (CNR), which is the largest public research institution in Italy.  Research at the Rome unit is focused on the development of superconducting nanowire single photon detectors (SNSPDs) integrated with advanced optical cavities and passive quantum-optics circuits on semiconducting materials. IFN-CNR exploits a 200 m2 clean room facility, equipped with a 100 kV Electron Beam Lithography system together with all the tools needed for micro and nanofabrication.
