Two postdoctoral positions are available in the Atom Chips group at Laboratoire Kastler Brossel in Paris, in the ERC-funded project "Entanglement and Quantum Engineering with optical Microcavities".

1. A quantum gas microscope in a cavity for engineering multiparticle entangled states

Our group has recently demonstrated the generation of multiparticle entanglement using an optical cavity [Science 344, 180 (2014); Science 349, 1317 (2015]. In this project, we will extend this approach to individually addressable qubit atoms trapped in a one-dimensional intracavity lattice. Application to quantum-enhanced metrology in a chip-based atomic clock will also be explored.

2. Cavity QED with strontium atoms

This new experiment aims to exploit the level structure of alkaline earth-like atoms for entanglement engineering with optical microcavities. A lightweight ultracold strontium setup will be combined with the optical fiber Fabry‐Perot (FFP) microcavities pioneered by our group to advance the field of quantum engineering.

We are looking for bright and motivated young researchers with previous experience in ultracold atom experiments and / or cavity QED. We offer the stimulating environment of a world-leading AMO laboratory.

The positions are available immediately.
