Senior Postdoc in Quantum Information

Quantum Information Group, Masaryk University, Czech Republic (QICZ) invites applications for post-doctoral positions in theoretical quantum information theory. The positions are awarded for 1-3 years. Gross salary is up to 3500 EUR per month which. Additional funds of 500 EUR per year will be available for travel and material expenses. Expected start date of the contract is May 2017, but a later start date may be negotiated. This position will be funded by a regional Marie-Curie funds, research project is necessary for application.

Successful candidates will join the research group led by Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Jan Bouda, Ph.D.

Applicants should have earned a PhD in physics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field, have demonstrated/interested in the following aspects of quantum information theory:

  • Quantum Shannon theory - channel capacity
  • Rényi entropies and non-i.i.d. in general.
  • Randomness - extraction, applications, unitary k-designs.
  • Cryptography - mainly security of cryptographic protocols and primitives in connection with randomness.

We are also interested in quantum cryptography, communication, and information theory in general.
