QUROPE Quantum Information Processing and Communication in Europe

Location

There are two open postdoctoral positions (one year, extendable), starting in March 2012 or later, based in Florence (Italy) to work in a new research project led by Dr. Filippo Caruso. One position, at LENS-Physics Department of Florence University, is theoretical and mainly about numerical simulations of open quantum systems to describe, for instance, transport phenomena in atomic systems, quantum optical schemes, and light-harvesting dynamics (related also to spectroscopy). The second one, at CNR-INO in Florence, is experimental and focused on a new quantum optics lab (supervised by Dr. Silvia Viciani and supported also by Dr. Marco Bellini) to realize and characterize quantum optical simulators of energy transport in natural & artificial photosynthetic systems.
