The position will be part of the theoretical quantum optics group https://theoretical-quantum-optics.nbi.ku.dk. The main focus of the research of the group is on the implementation of quantum information processing in a variety of physical systems. Currently most of the research is focussed on quantum communication and light matter interactions. The group is part of the newly established Center for Hybrid Quantum Networks (Hy-Q) http://hy-q.nbi.ku.dk , which aims at exploiting photons to merge disparate quantum systems. The group is also part of the Quantum Internet Alliance (QIA) http://quantum-internet.team , a European effort to build a global quantum internet.

The position should support the activities within the quantum internet alliance. The research will include the development of theories for near-term experiments which can be done by the participating experimental groups as well as the physical modelling of those experiments.

Terms of employment

The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff. Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State. The starting salary is currently up to DKK 430.569 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 73.627). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
