ICFO is offering a postdoctoral position to a well qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.

The successful candidate will be joining the Quantum Optics Theory group led by Prof. Maciej Lewenstein. She/he will be working on a project on the optical control of topological quantum systems, which is led by Dr. Tobias Grass. The focus of this project is on optically driven topological systems, with the aim of developing novel spectroscopic tools for fractional quantum Hall systems and of engineering topological phases of matter.

ELIGIBILITY AND CONDITIONS

The candidate must hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D. degree preferably in theoretical physics, ideally with a background in condensed matter theory and/or quantum optics theory. The project involves the numerical simulation of quantum many-body systems, and previous experience with relevant computational methods will be appreciated.

The contract is offered for periods of one year, renewable for a total of up to 2 years.

ICFO is an equal opportunity employer. Candidates are selected exclusively on merit and potential on the basis of submitted application material.
