ICFO is offering a postdoctoral position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment. The successful candidate will be joining the Quantum NanoMechanics group led by Prof. Adrian Bachtold. The group has experience in the physics of mechanical resonators based on carbon nanotubes.

The aim of the project is to couple different exceptional properties of nanotubes, including quantum electron transport, spin, and mechanical vibrations. The candidate will play a key role in this emerging activity of the group with two PhD students and two postdocs involved. Measurements will be carried out in two Triton dilution fridges using low noise radio-frequency techniques.

ELIGIBILITY AND CONDITIONS

Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future) preferably in physics and electrical engineering.

Positively valued will be experience in radio-frequency measurements, quantum electron transport, NMR, ESR, nanomechanics, and nanofabrication.
