ICFO-The Institute of Photonic Sciences is offering three postdoctoral positions to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientists who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.

The successful candidates will be joining the Quantum Information Theory group led by Prof. Dr. Antonio Acín. The group has experience in the design of quantum information protocols, with an emphasis on quantum cryptographic applications, the study of quantum correlations and the application of quantum information concepts to other fields, such as the study of many-body systems and quantum thermodynamics.

Eligibility and Conditions

Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future) preferably in quantum information theory.

The hired researchers will be working in the project “Certification of quantum technologies”, recently awarded by the European Research Council (ERC). We are looking for scientists with different profiles and covering different research directions, such as the study of many-body systems and their connection with quantum information theory, the certification of quantum annealers and simulators, the characterization of quantum correlations, and the design and analysis of quantum communication and certification protocols. Candidate should ideally have a proven track record on at least one of the previous research questions.

ICFO is an equal opportunity employer. Candidates are selected exclusively on merit and potential on the basis of submitted application material.
