DESCRIPTION

ICFO is offering a postdoctoral position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment. The Quantum Photonics with Solids and Atoms group at ICFO, led by Prof. Hugues de Riedmatten, is looking for a postdoctoral fellow to play a key role in setting experiments aiming at demonstrating entanglement between remote solid-state quantum memories.

REQUERIMENTS ANS CONDITIONS

  • Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future) preferably in experimental quantum optics, ideally involving quantum light-matter interactions.
  • The candidate should have a proven track record of high-impact scientific research in experimental quantum optics.
  • Positively valued will be experience in quantum light matter interaction, quantum memory and creation and analysis of entangled states.
  • Experience in quantum physics is highly desired.
  • The selected candidate will strongly benefit from a multidisciplinary environment with other postdocs and PhD students working in quantum technologies at ICFO, and with strong collaborations with our European academic and industrial partners within the Quantum Internet Alliance (http://quantum-internet.team/)

For further information about the Quantum Photonics with Solids and Atoms research group at ICFO, please see https://www.icfo.eu/lang/research/groups/groups-details?group_id=32, or contact Prof. Dr. Hugues de Riedmatten (hugues [dot] deriedmatten [at] icfo [dot] eu). Persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. No restrictions of citizenship or gender apply to the ICFO positions. Salaries will be commensurate with the experience of the candidates.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

The formal application should be submitted online via http://jobs.icfo.eu/?detail=375. Suitable candidates are requested to submit (in English):

  • Presentation letter with a declaration of interest,
  • Curriculum Vitae, including contact details,
  • The contact e-mail of two potential referees/previous supervisor or employer (who we will contact for their reference letters if necessary).

Candidates should be willing to be contacted by phone during the selection process. Candidates may contact jobs [at] icfo [dot] eu for informal enquiries regarding the application, as well as address scientific enquiries to hugues [dot] deriedmatten [at] icfo [dot] eu ( hugues [dot] deriedmatten [at] icfo [dot] eu).
