PhD and Post-Doc positions in the group “Quantum Nanophysics and Matter-Wave Interferometry”

(http://phyweb.phys.soton.ac.uk/matterwave/html/index.html) at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Southampton are available from September 2012. The candidates will undertake experimental research on the foundations of quantum physics in collaboration with Dr. Hendrik Ulbricht. Our group is part of the Quantum Light and Matter group at Southampton and we collaborate with experimentalists and theoreticians in Quantum Optics and Quantum Information, guaranteeing a rich and stimulating research environment.

PhD candidate is expected to have an undergraduate degree in Physics, Chemistry or Engineering. She/he will be able to work independently and collaboratively. Interest to work on foundations of physics and experience in optics and vacuum experiments will be advantageous.
