Photon Spot specializes in fully-automated closed-cycle cryostats that deliver temperatures below 1K (-272ºC, -457ºF) without the consumption and running expense of liquid helium. Our cryostats are a cost-effective and straight-forward alternative to other technologies like ADRs or dilution fridges in situations where temperatures in the 0.8K - 1K range are desired for an experiment.

Our single-photon detectors are based on superconducting nanowire technology that have demonstrated nearly zero dark counts, 30-50ps jitter, >90% quantum efficiency near 1550nm, and the ability to distinguish multi-photon events. This unparalleled detector performance brings much-needed solutions to difficult problems in free-space optical communication, quantum optics experiments, linear optics quantum computing, and semiconductor diagnostics.

We provide a modular system architecture to enable mix-and-match pairing of detectors and cryogenics, so you can build the detector system that meets your exact needs. And if we do not have what you need, we can build it for you.
