Quantum Optics VIII

Date:
2013-05-26 - 2013-06-01
Place:
Jachranka near Warsaw, Poland

We are pleased to advise that the Quantum Optics VIII conference will take place from 26 May 2013 to 1 June 2013 in Jachranka near Warsaw, Poland. The conference website is available at http://phoqus.fuw.edu.pl/quantumopticsviii/.

The conference will be the eighth one in the series that have been organized every four years since 1980s. One of its central aims is to bring together researchers from various sub-fields of quantum optics to offer a broad overview of current developments in this exciting domain. Main topics of the Quntum Optics VIII conference include:

Quantum Fields, Gravity and Information

Date:
2013-04-03 - 2013-04-05
Place:
Nottingham, UK

We are pleased to invite postgraduate researchers, from inside and outside the UK, to exchange ideas on the mathematical aspects of relativistic quantum physics. A special focus will be given to relativistic quantum information, a relatively young field which combines techniques from quantum field theory, quantum gravity, quantum information and quantum optics.

Coherent Control of Complex Quantum Systems

Date:
2013-05-07 - 2013-05-12
Place:
Okinawa, Japan

The quest to create complex synthetic quantum systems from the bottom up is currently one of the most active and exciting areas of physics. It promises the ability to study new and advanced quantum mechanical effects for fundamental science and applications in quantum engineering. Typical experimental systems in this area are cold atoms and ions, nano-resonators, semiconductor quantum dots or superconducting quantum interference devices, with new and exciting ones added regularly. All of these allow large experimental control and detailed theoretical understanding.

Pushing the Boundaries with Cold Atoms

Date:
2013-01-21 - 2013-02-15
Place:
Stockholm, Sweden

The ability to cool, coherently manipulate and measure atomic gases make these systems good candidates for studies of quantum many-body phenomena. Current experimental techniques allow for a plethora of different setups to be studied. This four week program focuses on new directions within the field of ultracold atomic gases. Interesting topics include for example,

The 8th Conference on the Theory of Quantum Computation, Communication and Cryptography

Date:
2013-05-21 - 2013-05-23
Place:
Guelph, Canada

Quantum computation, quantum communication, and quantum cryptography are subfields of quantum information processing, an interdisciplinary field of information science and quantum mechanics. The TQC conference series focuses on theoretical aspects of these subfields. The objective of the conference is to bring together researchers so that they can interact with each other and share problems and recent discoveries. It will consist of invited talks, contributed talks, and a poster session.

Prague, Czech Republic

This conference is designed to bring together leading scientists in the field of quantum optics, quantum information processing, and quantum cryptography. It will offer an updated review of recent activities both in theoretical and experimental research.

The conference programme will consist of oral and poster presentations on the following topics that include, but are not limited to:

ICSSUR 2013

Date:
2013-06-24 - 2013-06-28
Place:
Nuremberg, Germany

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the 13th ‘International Conference on Squeezed States and Uncertainty Relations’ (ICSSUR 2013) which will take place in Nuremberg, Germany, from June 24 to June 28 2013. It will be organized by the Max Planck Institute for the science of light and the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.

Quantum Walks in Grenoble

Date:
2012-11-13 - 2012-11-14
Place:
Grenoble, France

Quantum walks have become a common popular topic of research in different fields over the last few years. The quantum computing community is interested in quantum walks due to the role they play in certain algorithms. Quantum walks endowed with the probabilistic interpretation of quantum mechanics represent an extension of classical random walks to the quantum realm. Also, quantum physicists resort to quantum walks to model the dynamics of certain deterministic or random quantum systems, within certain regimes.
