The QUANTIHEAT project tackles issues related to thermal metrology at the nanoscale and aims at delivering validated standards, methods and modeling tools for nanothermal designs and measurements.

The main outcome of the project is the establishment and implementation of a new metrology technology based on scanning thermal probing to characterise the thermal properties of nanomaterials, polymers, composites, catalysts and devices at nanoscale.

The new methodology includes modelling and simulation tools, measurement tooling, reference and calibration samples and guidelines for the best practices to perform measurements, leading to creation of standards in the field of research of nanoscale thermal properties. The new methodology enables and advances the development of new generation nanomaterials for nano-imprint lithography (NIL) and interconnect materials but also in semiconductors, data storage, energy, etc...
