QUROPE Quantum Information Processing and Communication in Europe

The "Quantum Repeater" puts forward a concept which encompasses numerous, if not all aspects of realizing future components and devices for quantum information technology. Relevant platforms include quantum optical systems, semiconductor based components, superconducting quantum devices, and more and more hybrid systems bridging different technologies.

With this topical issue we plan to support future funding schemes at both the national and international levels. We aim at documenting the widespread activities in this field by their progress within and especially across the boundaries of traditional fields.

We hope to stimulate your interest in the subject and furthermore supporting the scientific community by contributing to our special issue.
