Candidates have an outstanding research record in experimental quantum physics in the broadest sense. The successful candidate will hold a Full Professorship at the University of Vienna and will find an exceptionally attractive research environment inside the Faculty of Physics and outside.

Associate professor of Mathematical Physics and/or Quantum Information Theory

The advertisement is for a permanent position as Associate Professor in Mathematics within the area of Mathematical Physics and/or Quantum Information Theory. Candidates are expected to have an internationally recognized research record having made ground-breaking contributions to the mathematics of quantum theory within the research disciplines mathematical physics and/or quantum information theory.

Research fellow projects available:

The Department of Physics proposes to appoint two Associate Professors (equivalent to Lecturer) or Professors in Quantum Information with effect from 1st October 2017 or as soon thereafter as possible. One successful candidate will also be offered a Tutorial Fellowship at Keble College, and one successful candidate will also be offered a Tutorial Fellowship at Worcester College, under arrangements described in the further particulars.  The combined University and College salary will be according to experience on a scale from £45,562 per annum plus additional benefits.

QuSoft is the new Dutch research Center for Quantum Software that was recently launched jointly by the University of Amsterdam (UvA), the Centrum voor Wiskunde en Informatica (Center for Mathematics and Computer Science, CWI) and the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU). Its mission is to develop new protocols, algo-rithms and applications that can be run on small and medium-sized prototypes of a quantum computer.
