DESCRIPTION

The Optoelectronics Group, led by Prof. Dr. Valerio Pruneri, at ICFO-The Institute of Photonic Sciences is offering a research engineer position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic individual who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.

The successful candidate will work on our projects related to Quantum and Quantum Key Distribution. This project seeks to develop quantum key distribution systems that can be readily integrated into modern optical telecommunication networks. The successful candidate will be working on developing software for data analysis, cryptography algorithms and codes, and user applications. This position will be co-financed by the European Union Regional Development Fund within the framework of the ERDF Operational Program of Catalonia 2014-2020

REQUIREMENTS & CONDITIONS

-  Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future) preferably in software engineering or related topics.

-  Knowledge of Java, Python, C/C++, or Embedded software programming is desired. 

The selected candidate will strongly benefit from a multidisciplinary environment with other research engineers, post-doctoral researcher and PhD students with experience in FPGA programming, and optical communication.
