The Faculty of Physics at the University of Vienna, Austria, is an internationally renowned institution in higher education with a rapidly growing portfolio of European research projects.
It is home to 13 research groups, with a strong emphasis on Quantum Science and Technology, Computational Physics, Materials Research, Environmental Physics as well as Theoretical and Mathematical Physics.
It is embedded into a complex financial landscape with numerous international projects and a broad range of cooperation partners.

The Dean’s Office intends to hire a person with special skills in and dedication to the financial and administrative support of externally funded projects, mainly EU projects.

The position is initially limited to a one-year period, with the option to be transformed into an unlimited contract, afterwards.

Your responsibilities include supporting scientific staff in the preparation phase (formal, legal advice), and particularly in the financial management, controlling and communication with the EU offices for granted projects. You will be embedded into the professional administrative staff affiliated with the Dean’s office.

This position requires a high level of independence, loyalty and responsibility, proficiency in the handling of complex projects, EU regulations and finances, familiarity with the common office and project handling tools as well as fluency in German and English (spoken and written).

Extent of employment: 40.0 hours/week
Occupation in accordance with Austrian salary scales: §54 VwGr. IVa.
On top of this, your relevant work experience will determine your assignment to a particular salary grade.
