The Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQuS) is a major Australian research initiative established in 2011, bringing together researchers from The University of Queensland and other Australian Universities. There are a number of domestic and international partner institutions.

At the UQ node of EQuS, based in Brisbane, Associate Professor Tom Stace leads a theoretical research group focused on solid-state quantum devices, quantum optics and quantum error correction, with close collaborations with a number of experimental groups.

We are seeking high-quality physics or mathematics graduates with either Honours (1st or 2A Class) or a Masters equivalent to commence a PhD in the above areas. The applicant should be highly motivated to pursue research in quantum science in these areas.

Information about the Centre may be accessed on the Centre's website at http://www.equs.org/
