We are seeking PhD candidates in the development of algorithms for quantum computing and quantum measurement.  Quantum computing involves manipulating quantum systems, such as individual atoms or photons, to process information in a fundamentally different way than regular computers, and achieve much higher speed.  Similarly, quantum measurement involves using quantum systems for high precision measurement, for example of distance, or nanoscale magnetic fields.  PhD projects will involve developing the new techniques needed for this highly advanced technology of the future.

PhD scholarships that can support potential candidates cover the national/international fees (International: 32,000AUD/yr), and provides an annual stipend of ~25,000AUD. The PhD provides approx 15,000AUD for travel and research costs.
