The Quantum Information Group at Toshiba Research Europe Ltd is a world leader in R&D of quantum devices and their applications. In recent years they have pioneered the use of light emitting diodes for generating single photons and entangled pairs, as well as avalanche photodiodes for high rate photo-detection. CASE PhD positions are available for research projects focusing on quantum photonic devices, as well as their application to quantum communications and computing.
Applicants must be EU nationals and have (or expect) a 1st or upper 2nd class degree in Physics, Electronic Engineering or related discipline. They should be enthusiastic, creative and have demonstrated an aptitude for experimental physics or engineering.
