We have an opening for a full-time PhD position in quantum information at CEOSpaceTech Research Centre in Bucharest.

The Research Center for Spatial Information (CEOSpaceTech), Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology, University "Politehnica" Bucharest (UPB) fosters and develops a leading-edge research and an academic focal point, in areas of Radar and THz sensors and imaging, sensor networks, information extraction from sensor data, Mining Big Data and Quantum Information.

Quantum information is a cutting-edge, multidisciplinary research field which redefines the limits of known technologies. Quantum technologies will have an impact on several areas, like information science, communications, computing, cryptography, metrology and sensing.

We are looking for an independent, highly-motivated PhD student to work in the area of quantum information and to contribute to the next generation of quantum technologies. The research project will explore several topics in quantum information including, but not limited to, quantum resources & protocols for communication, sensing and metrology.

The candidate should have a Master's degree and a strong background in related fields (information science, quantum physics, computer science, mathematics etc). An open and inquiring mind, good analytic & programming skills and a knowledge of quantum mechanics are highly desirable.
