We are currently offering a PhD position for motivated people interested in studying experimental quantum optics and quantum communication. The position is in the Group of Applied Physics, led by Profs Nicolas Gisin and Hugo Zbinden, at the University of Geneva. The successful candidate can start immediately.

Research will focus on the experimental implementation of Device independent QKD [N. Gisin et al., PRL 105, 070501 (2010)]. The applicant will work towards experiments involving multiple sources of entanglement, based on parametric down conversion. Key primitives, such as teleportation and entanglement swapping will be made and the means of experimentally testing complex quantum systems explored.
The applicants must hold a diploma or masters degree in physics. The application should include a detailed CV, a short description of research interests and the names of three potential referees and their relationship to the candidate.

Enquiries and applications should be directed to Nicolas [dot] Gisin [at] unige [dot] ch (subject: PhD%20in%20Experimental%20Device-Independent%20QKD) (Nicolas Gisin)
