The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at University of Bristol is seeking to appoint an exceptional individual to take up an exciting new role within the Centre for Quantum Photonics (CQP) and the wider, newly established Quantum Engineering Technology Labs (QET Labs). You will build collaborations across the University and beyond. You will have an excellent record in Photonic Quantum Engineering, and research interests that are a good fit with the multidisciplinary engineering, mathematics and computer science culture within the school.

CQP and the wider QET Labs is a global centre for research, development and entrepreneurship in the emerging quantum technology industry. With world-leading facilities, core expertise in photonic quantum technologies and quantum systems engineering and with over 100 researchers working on cutting-edge research, QET Labs is an international node for collaboration with industrial and academic world leaders, including the EPSRC UK Quantum Technology Hub Network.
You will be expected to develop a strong and internationally visible research program in the area of Quantum Engineering and Technology. You will have a strong background in one of the following areas;

integrated quantum technology platforms,
photonic technologies for communication and computation,
devices and components.

You will hold a PhD and have an excellent record of accomplishments in quantum science and technology, nanophotonic devices or quantum nano devices and a growing international research profile, as evidenced by the quality of publications. Commitment to teaching and the ability to lead a research group are required.

Experience of teaching, supervising PhD students, securing grant funding and leading research is also desirable.
