Faculty Post [Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor] in Experimental Diamond Quantum Science

The Department of Physics and Astronomy, Macquarie University, in Sydney Australia, seeks outstanding applicants to join its Quantum Science and Technology (QSciTech) Research Centre (www.qscitech.info). With eleven staff, the QSciTech Research Centre group participates in large research projects such as the Australian Research Council's Centre for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS www.equs.org) and a number of other multinational projects in quantum technology. The Department of Physics and Astronomy is also host to substantial research efforts in photonics (including participation in the ARC Centre of Excellence CUDOS), astronomy and condensed matter physics.

The University seeks applicants in Experimental Diamond Quantum Science  for a continuing post at Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor level (level C/D). This position includes relocation costs, start up funding, access to substantial existing laboratories (including confocal microscopes, room temp/cryogenic AFM, microwave), and dedicated research staff. In particular the post will spearhead (as a Chief Investigator), the University's substantial diamond quantum technology programme within the EQUS project - which attracts significant funding over the duration of the project, and will lead the University's new CVD Diamond Fabrication Facility (Australian National Nanofabrication Facility).
