We are happy to announce the 21. Young Atom Opticians (YAO) Conference to take place in Spring 2015 at ETH Zurich. The YAO conference is renowned to be a great meeting ground for young researchers in both experimental and theoretical atomic physics and an excellent platform to present their work. It is specifically aimed at graduate students in the starting phase of their PhD. The goal is to provide insight into the various research areas of modern quantum optics while the conference enables the exchange of participants in a relaxed and unforced atmosphere.

The YAO 2015 conference will take place from Sunday, 19th to Friday, 24th of April 2015. Apart from the poster presentations and the talks, this years’ edition will feature five invited talks:

Rainer Blatt: University of Innsbruck, Austria
Jean Dalibard: École Normale Supérieure and Collège de France, Paris, France
Eugene Demler: Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, United States
Tilman Esslinger: ETH Zürich, Switzerland
Selim Jochim: University of Heidelberg, Germany

For further information and abstract submission, please visit http://www.yao2015.ethz.ch. The registration is already open, the deadline is on January 31st, 2015. The conference fee of 250 CHF covers accomodation and breakfast/lunch from Sunday to Friday, a city tour and the conference dinner.

Please feel free to forward this email to your colleagues. The participants of the conference are usually young PhD students, but the conference is also open to masters students or other young scientists in the field of atomic physics. The number of participants will be limited to around 80.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Zurich!

Best regards,
Julian Leonard
on behalf of the YAO organization team
