WE Heraeus Seminar on Cold Molecular Ions

2015-06-15 - 2015-06-18
Bad Honnef

Dear colleagues,

We would like to announce the 594. Wilhelm and Else Heraeus-Seminar "Spectroscopy and applications of cold molecular ions”, which will be held at the Physikzentrum Bad Honnef/Germany from June 15th to 18th, 2015.

More information is available at

The seminar will explore recent developments in cooling, internal state control, detection, and spectroscopy of molecular ions in the context of exciting applications. Such applications range from precision spectroscopy and tests of fundamental physics over chemical reactions of cold molecules and the formation of molecular clusters, all the way to molecules in interstellar space as probes for their environment.

The topics covered by the workshop include:

  • Novel experimental techniques
  • High resolution spectroscopy and tests of fundamental physics
  • Hybrid systems
  • Interstellar molecules
  • Large molecules and clusters
  • Cold chemistry

Questions concerning the seminar can be directed to the scientific organizers Roland Wester and Piet Schmidt.

There will be no conference fee. Board and lodging will be generously funded by the Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation.

Hope to see you in Bad Honnef in June!

Best regards,

Roland Wester and Piet Schmidt
