Perspectives on Quantum Many-Body Entanglement

Date:
2013-09-25 - 2013-09-27
Place:
Mainz, Germany

Dear colleagues,

This is the first announcement of the 3-day workshop "Perspectives on Quantum Many-Body Entanglement", to take place at the Johannes-Gutenberg University in Mainz (Germany), September 25-27 2013.

The aim of this 3-day workshop is to bring together people working on the broad field of entanglement in quantum many-body systems, so that they can discuss and exchange ideas as well as recent developments in the field. Topics included range from tensor network techniques and entanglement-based renormalization group methods, to experimental measurements of many-body entanglement, as well as entanglement spectrum, characterization of topological systems, and entanglement in quantum phase transitions. We are planning to have a very collaborative encounter, with plenty of interaction among practitioners.

We will be pleased to have the following invited speakers:

Frank Verstraete (Univ. Vienna)
Jens Eisert (Freie Univ. Berlin)
Mari Carmen Bañuls (MPQ Garching)
Anne Nielsen (MPQ Garching)
Didier Poilblanc (CNRS Toulouse)
German Sierra (Univ. Autónoma de Madrid)
Rosario Fazio (Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa)
Jose Ignacio Latorre (Univ. Barcelona / National Univ. of Singapore)
Andreas Läuchli (Univ. Innsbruck) *
Ferdinand Schmidt-Kaler (Johannes-Gutenberg Univ. Mainz) *
Peter van Loock (Johannes-Gutenberg Univ. Mainz)
Leonardo Fallani (LENS, Florence)
Dmitry Abanin (Perimeter Institute, Waterloo)

* To be confirmed
