QUROPE Quantum Information Processing and Communication in Europe

I'd like to invite you to the International Science Day (ISD), an event to celebrate Science taking place on June 5th in Turku (Finland), the 2011 European Capital of Culture.

The ISD is a one day festival of science aimed at the general public and especially focussed on the intersection between Science and Art. A unique list of outstanding speakers, including TED speakers, will present TED-style talks leading you, in artistic and fun ways, to the incredible and fascinating worlds of quantum physics, mathematics and science in general. During ISD, you will experience the premiere of the documentary “Inside the Light”, an Italian/French/British/Finnish production, filmed at the laboratories of Prof. Serge Haroche in France and Prof. Wolfgang Lange in the UK. Directed by Italian documentarist Marco Tumbiolo, the documentary is a poetic portrayal of the creation and destruction of light quanta, or photons.

The event is free, however you need to register by email (smanis [at] utu [dot] fi) and indicating the number of tickets you need.
