The Group of Applied Physics at the University of Geneva in Switzerland is one of the premier research institutions in the field of Quantum Information Science and Technology, an exciting and vibrant research topic that attracts many of the best researchers and institutions across the globe. The Group of Applied Physics has established itself as one of the world-leading laboratories in Quantum Communication by realizing several ground-breaking experiments.
In our group at the University of Siegen (Germany) we are looking for a motivated PhD student in the field of quantum information theory. The research topics include
Applicants are expected to have a master / diploma in physics, experience in theoretical physics and interest in foundational questions of quantum mechanics.
A three-year position for a PhD student is available in the Department of Physics at the University of Dortmund. The position is part of an EU-funded network working on coherent optical processing in rare-earth ion crystals. The goal of the project is the development of technologies for storing photonic quantum states in the crystal with high fidelity and high efficiency, with storage times exceeding one second.
The newly established quantum information group at Freiburg University invites applications for PhD and postdoctoral positions.
We work on a broad array of topics in quantum information theory, many-body theory, and mathematical physics. In addition, we aim to strengthen our profile in other areas of applied math, in particular on problems related to compressed sensing, matrix completion and other topics in machine learning theory.
