The Optoelectronics Group, led by Prof. Dr. Valerio Pruneri, at ICFO is offering a research engineer position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic individual who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.

The successful candidate will work on our projects related to Quantum and Quantum Key Distribution. This project seeks to develop quantum key distribution systems that can be readily integrated into modern optical telecommunication networks. The successful candidate will be working on developing a FPGA-based system for control and signal processing of quantum key distribution units. This position will be co-financed by the European Union Regional Development Fund within the framework of the ERDF Operational Program of Catalonia 2014-2020


-  The candidate should have a degree in electronic engineering, hardware engineering, or telecommunication engineering.

-  Knowledge in Xilinx-Zynq FPGA design and Verilog programming is desired.

-  Experience in any of the following subjects is evaluated positively: Isim, ModelSim, Vivado, Python, C/C++ programming, Embedded Linux kernel and driver development.

The selected candidate will strongly benefit from a multidisciplinary environment with other research engineers, post-doctoral researcher and PhD students with experience in FPGA programming, optical communication, and software development.
