A Postdoctoral Research Assistant / Associate (PDRA) position is available at the Centre for Quantum Photonics in the H.H. Wills Physics Laboratory and Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at the University of Bristol. You will work closely with Professor Jeremy O’Brien and Dr Mark Thompson as well as other members of CQP. You will be working on reconfigurable integrated quantum photonics, developing a novel generation of waveguide single-photon detectors and integrating them into complex optical circuits.

This position is part of an EU Marie Curie Initial Training Network in Photonic Integrated Compound Quantum Encoding (PICQUE). PICQUE involves partners from Universities of Rome, Oxford, Paderborn, Jena, Vienna, Eindhoven and Bristol, CNRS, and CNR as well as several industry partners. PICQUE will establish a world-class training platform spreading around the highly interdisciplinary area of quantum integrated photonics. PICQUE aims to form a new generation of quantum information scientists who work closely with industry. The funding body stipulates that researchers must be in possession of a doctoral degree (or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience) but have less than five years of full-time equivalent research experience. In addition researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc) in the UK for more than 12 months in the last 3 years.
