Challenges in experimental quantum optics

Several Postdoc and PhD positions will become available in 2010 at the Danish quantum optics center QUANTOP ( at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark, in experimental quantum optics and quantum information processing. The projects include quantum teleportation, quantum memory and quantum metrology with room temperature atoms in standard and micro-fabricated cells (one postdoc and one PhD position), generation of Fock and cat states and quantum memory with cold and trapped atoms (one postdoc and one PhD position), quantum opto-nanomechanics (PhD position), and development of a multi-mode quantum interface between a Rubidium Bose-Einstein condensate and light (PhD position). For further inquiries please contact Profs. Eugene Polzik (polzik [at] nbi [dot] dk) and Jörg Helge Müller (muller [at] nbi [dot] dk) Applications should include a cv, the names and contact information of up to three references, and a description of research interest. Applications should be submitted (in a single .pdf file) to Charlotte Hviid (hviid [at] nbi [dot] dk), The Niels Bohr Institute, Blegdamsvej 17, 2100 Copenhagen Ø, Denmark. The deadline for applications is 10.05.2010

The quantum optics center QUANTOP is a research center founded by the Danish Natural Research Foundation. The research of the center covers the areas of quantum information, quantum optics and ultra-cold atoms. For further information please visit
