The Optoelectronics Group, led by Prof. Dr. Valerio Pruneri, at ICFO is offering a post-doctoral position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic individual who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.

The successful candidate will work to develop quantum key distribution systems that can be readily integrated into modern optical telecommunication networks.

The successful candidate will carry out their tasks within the Quantum CAT project (Agrupació Emergent en Tecnologies Quàntiques de Catalunya (QUANTUM) with suggested potential funding of 1.814.495,14€. Operation Code: IU16-011424). This project QuantumCAT is co-financed by the European Union Regional Development Fund within the framework of the ERDF Operational Program of Catalonia 2014-2020.”


-       Candidates must hold a PhD degree in physics, telecommunication engineering or electronic engineering.

-       The candidate should have a proven track record of high impact scientific research demonstrated by scientific publications.

-       Experience in experimental optical telecommunications or experimental quantum communications is required.

-       Positively valued will be experience in fiber-based quantum communication and cryptography, coherent optical communication, and fiber optics components.

-       The selected candidate will be offered a position based on his/her expertise.

-       The selected candidate will strongly benefit from close collaboration with other scientist working in areas such as quantum optics and digital electronics. In addition, the project has a close collaboration with others academic institutions and partner enterprises.
