The group for Nonlinear Quantum Optics [1] at the Institut for Laser Physics, University of Hamburg, Germany, invites applications for a 3 year PhD position in experimental physics within the project "Squeezed Light at 2.1um for Gravitational Wave Detectors".

Applicants require a university degree in a relevant field. Fluency in the English and/or German language is required. Experience in working with optical experiments, laser systems and high-quality optics is an advantage. The experimental work will be carried out in semi-cleanroom conditions, therefore the willingness and physical ability to work in this environment is a requirement. The applicant should feel comfortable and motivated in designing and setting up a complex experiment, and enjoy working as part of an internationally leading research team.

For further information, please contact Dr. Sebastian Steinlechner, sebastian [dot] steinlechner [at] physnet [dot] uni-hamburg [dot] de.

Full application details can be found on the university's job portal.
